SUSTAINABILITY.

Ethos.

Sustainability has always and always will be a top priority for the way we work. We are continuously looking for ways to improve and better our processes, products and suppliers. Both of us come from environmental backgrounds in our past careers and have brought this into our business model. It's just who we are.

Manufacture.

We source our tents from UK manufacturers where possible with our flagship Yurts being handmade in Shropshire using traditional and sustainable techniques. Yurt Maker is an extremely eco conscious business with sustainability at the forefront of their ethos too.

Lighting.

All our lighting uses LEDs including in our warehouse and office.

Standard LED bulbs can be up to 80% more energy efficient than conventional bulbs. LED light bulbs can last up to 20 times longer than standard forms of lighting. They also contain no hazardous materials (so they are much safer for the environment) and they do not require specialist disposal.

PARTNERSHIPS.

We work in with local service providers to promote a more sustainable way of working. We work with wedding planners and stylists to encourage sustainable decor packages rather than a throw away culture which is often associated with weddings & events.

Waste.

We aim to minimise waste on a daily basis, recycling, repurposing and reusing items as often as possible. Many disposable items have been replaced by reusable ones, such as cable ties. When stock is replaced it is often sold on rather than thrown away and when that is not possible items are often donated or recycled.

on the ground.

At FMTHQ we have planted over 100 trees, the large proportion being mixed native trees. We have a wildflower meadow with minimal management to allow wildlife to thrive. We also have bee hives on site. Bees are critical to agriculture and growing food, but they’re also necessary for wild plants as well. Without bees, many of these plants would just die off.
